Photo Journal

IMG_2274.JPG

I am accompanied by one great mentor for another photo journey. I usually don’t make photographs of people, but when I see one great spirit, I do as my spirit tells me to.

George and I see many things in the same way: we both love architecture and landscape photography. He even lent his previous Hasse to me so I can enjoy my BW film days again. I shot one roll today.

It’s great to get out there photographing again. Telling people how I just love making images to balance my real life. It is really not about money, but making differences in my and other people’s life. THAT brings me the true happiness.

Thanks George, for an inspiring day.

It has been a while that I made any new images since the trip last time. The new position along with the class, and many others are taking a lot out of me. It’s about time for another journey up somewhere new.

These are a few images I have finally gotten to edit. With Reyes having a deep conversation with the wind on top of the Chapel of Holy Cross, I feel there’s a need to turn the colors off. Everyone knows how much I adore BW. The reason is just simple, it simplifies and takes you in to the emotion of the image.

In my own life, I begin to work on keeping it simple and making it balance as well: working my butt off and photographing until it hurts. Making photograph and exploring new places have becoming the key of keeping myself sane in life. I know my PaPa Dan is smiling and proud of me by stating this. He is always the one reminds me to find my own passion and go for it.

“Dream about your house, kiddo,” Pa said.

The more we think about something, the dream actually comes true. Setting your intention, let it happen, and not resist.

I see my dream, Pa. Though it is not quite making any sense, somehow, it is much more clear to me now than ever before. I know spending time with God’s creation has a lot to do with it.

He has put eternity in their heart.– Ecclesiastes 3:11

That they might seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, even though He is not far from each one of us. – Acts 17:27

Thank you Pa, and I love you and miss you…

Holga Girl

First time when I met Mitsuko-chan, she ran to me once her Mom opened the door with her most pure and generous smile on her beautiful face. Mitsuko loves photography, she likes to be photographed and making photographs. (I think/hope!) The present I brought her was my first Holga camera. She was making photographs of Reyes while me making photographs of her. At the dinner table, I asked her to set the camera down so the camera could see her eat. Mitsuko sat the camera in front of her, and opened the lens cap…

At that moment, I knew she will be a talented artist when she grows up. We all have to remove the cap [veil] in front of us [camera] so we can see light [vision].

A magical girl.

One of my favorite images in the R&M photo story.

Trying to capture the moment of being alone, the sense of freedom as no one finds the subject.

When making each image, I constantly think about how I would be the subject and expressing what I would feel at that time. I remember I enjoy going to watch a movie myself, eating by myself, or taking a walk myself.

It might sound sad, however, it is that moment of having your own time, for yourself. Precious.

It was such a joy to be a part of this photo story:

the love between a brother and a sister.

He has been there from the beginning of her life. It has been 5 years and all he wants to do is to get her up high to reach to her dream.

What a story you need to witness. A pure and heartfelt relationship in one family. They both claim their love for each other is more than the other… fighting over how much they adore each other…

Keep fighting and walking onto the unknown together, R&M.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful love with me.

Stories will continue…

YaYa was on time-out after having a fight with his brother. I hate to see the sad face but reminded me that we all grew up quarreling with our siblings. The end of it, we still support and love each other for eternity. I have faith that these two boys will embrace each other, teach and learn, and love their mom forever.

Love you, YaYa & GianGian.
